Is it theoretically possible to travel backwards in time and space? It seems like turning back the clock is the only way to save ourselves. But then some of us might not even be born. Whats the answer here?

It's only possible to travel back in time to the first machines activation.
Now if there was one activated x amount of years ago, you could travel back to that moment but not earlier as you'd have no point of reference for the machine to anchor to when traveling backwards.
Forward is easier
