Why are people so mean? Why is everyone constantly so aggressive, judgemental, spiteful, and hateful? I don't ever remember it feeling this bad. There were always mean people *like* this, but it never used to feel like it was the vast majority of the population. No matter how friendly you are people just hate you from the moment they meet you anyway, like everyone else is an inconvenience to them and they're so above it all. It's so hard for me to make friends, not only because of this, but also because everyone for some reason has to bury everything they say under 20 layers of irony and sarcasm. I hate it. Why can't anyone just be nice to people anymore?

I hate going out in public anymore because of exactly what you just described OP. Everyone is just all fucking pissed off and grumpy 24/7 and it makes it completely miserable to be around any of them. I don't even remember the last time I encountered a person I would consider fun or who at least just didn't make their misery rub off on me for the rest of the day. I stay inside alone for a reason.

I hate that it's like this. I helped an old lady at the store bring stuff out to her car and she cried because of it and it made me remember what normal interaction feels like. It was a really touching moment that felt like it was lost in time and didn't belong in today's world. I dunno all I can say is that I'll never let the world take my heart away from me, I'll never let this rub off on me. I'll keep trying to be the person I am no matter how bad it gets because everyone needs at least someone who is supportive and isn't so utterly miserable like everyone else in their life

Well, the other problem with autismos is that they bulldoze through the normal process by which people gradually, in steps, permit others into their confidence. Every successive notch closer that you try to take a relationship has to be undertaken in such a way that you give them an out to politely, indirectly decline if they don't want to, which you are then expected to be able to handle gracefully so that they don't feel awkward by having to be explicit and direct. Spergs are oblivious to this and tend to do autistic shit like inviting someone on vacation with them that they've only been talking to for a month, and then when the person declines have a meltdown and start texting them

All of which makes the other person's skin crawl, not even because they necessarily dislike them but because it's bone chillingly uncomfortable to have to EXPLICITLY explain that you don't want to get closer to someone, because it makes you feel like an asshole. Furthermore, anticipation of having to deal with this with someone you can smell the 'tism on motivates people to keep them at a distance in general, compounding the problem

There hasn't been a mass population die off from war or famine in the West for a long time. Human mammals need such events to be grateful for the crust of bread or a hello from a stranger, a tiny bit of kindness. The hairless she has all it's needs met in the tiny glass enclosure and gets angrier every single day. Should it face death or destruction or terminal hunger, it gets back to it's base of gratitude for the smallest of things. Some day a massive correction shall come.
