Scientist discover 15 inch Flying Stick Insect in Australia
https://x.com/abc/status/1950849316685217945?s=46

There is an insect called the stick insect which I assume most countries have were a little insect disguises itself as a stick.

Scientists have discovered a new stick insect in Australia which is 15 inches long with and can reveal wings from its stick like body and fly.

Pretty amazing that it hasn’t been found til now. Just shows how much can hide in the forest. It lives up tall trees, and hardly ever comes down. You wouldn’t see it unless you climbed the trees.

I genuinely hope there is either
>a large cat that’s prowling in the outback
Or
>a literal dinosaur that survived the asteroid extinction (no, birds do not count)
At some point

We had those things but we killed them too. They were mostly hunted to extinction for their skin/fur or as trophies. There were several things like that in the previous century.

I’m with you though. The story is highly suspicious. I bet they already had some similar species and this technically is a new species so they’re saying “discovered new species” or maybe we just underestimate how dense Aussie bush is. You can drive for hours there and get nowhere and the landscape doesn’t even change from trees and bushes all around you.

Uh, the j'ba fofi megatarantual is real, and it even lives in America, it is a trapdoor ambush spider that occasionally kills humans. Its not a proper cryptid but a very elusive animal. The largest examples are about 2 meters wide over the legs.

Uhhhh to be honest dandelions are our friends. Plants are nice. If you ever plant a plant and raise it to grow flowers you will know what I mean. They can’t talk or anything but they can “see” using photosynthesis and I’m sure they’re pure. Funnily enough a lot of people say they feel a relationship with their garden. I don’t but I can see where it comes from.
