How can a jew come from Poland to Palestine and say ''this country is mine" and you palestinians have no place here?
You can't if you didn't have a story to tell, you'd just be a criminal, like some guy coming and stealing somebody else's land. So to explain and justify what they are doing they develop a narrative : ''GOD GAVE US THIS LAND " and "THIS IS ANCIENT ISRAEL'' and ''we were driven out by the romans''
The point is to allow the people to live with that story in a normal way so they don't feel guilty.
Palestinians are not said to be ''resisting'' because that is too much legitimacy, they are not recognized as people, just a bunch of arabs. So what every colonial power does is to criminallize indigenous plpulations so that they feel normal here and palestinans are criminal terrorists that are simply attacking for no reason.
