Will enough gooners resort to cryptocurrency in order to continue buying smut? I've always been dismissive about crypto besides speculative investment, you just never hear or see anybody using it day to day. But I remember hearing somewhere that porn has been an indicator of future mainstream tech. Maybe the example was Blu-Ray vs HD DVD. My point is, if crypto becomes the de-facto porn currency, should we expect to see the value greatly increase again? Restricting porn is a spiritual win, but I'll take a financial one too if presented with the opportunity.

At best, you are driving people away from large scale platforms that are easily scrutinized by governments, and instead giving more attention to smaller, more flexible platforms. On Baraag, a fediverse instance primarily populated by artists (and especially NSFW artists), there has been a lot of recent talk about moving to crypto currency platforms in the past month or two, due to actions by payment processors.

If Visa and Mastercard will not process payment for porn games, we can use Monero, Bitcoin, Litecoin, you name it.
If porn artists cannot use Twitter to reach their audience, they can use the fediverse.
If Discord starts IDing people, Matrix can be used in its place.

We can always be one step ahead of the government. Worst case scenario, everything moves to Tor and you have an entire generation of preteens who can access the dark web.

Banning porn is the government's job, not the job of the payment processors.

What would realistically happen if this were to go in effect? Sites like OnlyFans and clips4sale would go under, but the illegal tube sites and bunkr would still be up. Maybe the whores would aggressively copyright the illegal tube sites as a last ditch effort to scrub the internet of their past? But there's too much existing porn on the tube sites for it all to be gone. It would stop new porn from being created though.
