If the idea wasn't to stuff as many people into a small place as possible to maximize rent profits then no. I can imagine average American home sized "apartments" with a shared park in the middle, and lots of plants hanging from balconies and windows being comfy. Of course it's easy to ruine anything when you add browns and Asians to the thing so best keep those out.

Partially true. Buildings and complexes like this create a lot of blind spots that make it hard to effectively police which creates an inevitable death spiral that leads to nogs and migrants being on the roadmap which makes things much worse.
