Any time you hear about something blowing up or getting bored in Ukraine you should note that the UK probably directed them to do so. They call this kind of work “advise and assist” missions, since they don’t want to create the appearance/PR headache that they are fighting the war, but that’s exactly what they’re doing. There are Western European military/intelligence agents on the ground in Ukraine conducting war activities.

The US is still technically involved. (I’m sure you’ve probably heard of the recent nuclear sub movements near Russia), and Europe doesn’t really own any military/spy/communications satellites besides maybe the UK, so the US is providing some of those capabilities, because Ukraine can’t beat Russia on their own, without external help.
Europeans understand this, but they don’t want to create a situation where no one in Europe can afford gas. Thats why this has been going on for so long. The crippled kid picked a fight with a bigger kid at school and everyone is egging the fight on by handing the crippled kid sticks, and yelling at him to “sweep his legs”.
