This is incredibly inspirational, thank god we didn't elect PP. He would have rolled out the red carpet for MAGA hate, just look where his priorities lie. No, with the unified strength of our 10 provinces and 3 territories, we can be our own best customer, fending off fascist MAGA and enriching our beautiful progressive country from coast to coast to coast, building East-West corridors and helping the middle class and those working hard to join it.

>Canada's economy is showing resilience against tariffs from a country that was only a high priced exporter of luxury goods to begin with
It really boggles my mind how little the average person knows about economics. The shit in the grocery store and hardware store that was made in america was already the expensive stuff, now people are just even more likely to ignore it and buy stuff from some other country.

no, we don't have the industry to consume all that crude oil and timber. stop being retarded, I know you want to be "tough" but its not patriotic if it ruins the country for the next century

We will learn to woodwork and refine crude. Frankly, we should have been doing this the whole time. Consider the Trump MAGA tariffs a wake up call. We can refine our OWN lumber, make our OWN park benches, and create economic benefit for all of our citizens.

CUSMA is still in effect and protects a very large proportion of US/Canadian trade from tariffs.

Part of the reason the economy is "showing resilience" is that we've already been successful in finding new markets. Most of our exports to the US that really don't have a substitute buyer are protected under CUSMA, and they're protected even in this trade dispute because the US is as reliant on that trade as we are. Aside from the export capacity that can be reallocated domestically, we have international partners across both oceans looking to increase their trade with Canada to offset trade with China, Russia or now the US.

You're not a nationalist if you don't even recognize a classic nationalist dogwhistle. You're a brown baby LARPing because you hate the country your dysgenic parents dragged you into as much as you hate yourself, you genetically displaced dead end.

It's always been a hockey phrase. You keep your elbows up when checking. It's proper form.
It became a pop culture phrase during our late cold war hockey rivalry with the USSR. A tournament match devolved into a teamwide brawl in which our team beat the ever loving shit out of the reds while Don Cherry cheered them on from the announcer booth (incidentally the event that made him an icon). Afterwards "elbows up" was basically a phrase of national pride advocating casual violence against communists and other enemies of basic human decency.

I don't blame kids for being too young to have lived through that piece of our history, but not even learning about it in passing or why it mattered is peak FOB..

It's resilient because dumb fat retarded americans continue to buy all of our shit, regardless of fat paypig americans having to pay more for our shit. Just keep buying our shit.
Oh and Carney projecting covid-level budget deficits keeps us afloat, for now.

It's not about the economy. It's about being politically contrarian and demanding that we prop up your irresponsible programs with our money.

Simple and absolute example.... Canada bitches about global warming and Canada recruits the Asian swarm to live there. Pollution will NEVER be solved by piling on millions of people into a polar climate who came from one of the hottest parts of the world. They're going to all be on welfare and burning the house for heat by the next generation.

You have to prove us all wrong and end up proving us right. What your economy does over the last week isn't a sign of anything. They aren't coming here...EVER.
