>>512208732 (OP) I know it's a Russian proxy when someone asks about some specific military eq. Only Russians are interested in this probably because conscription is compulsory there. Your average Polish, German or French young man has no idea and zero interest in the military, certainly not to the degree of asking about a specific model of a helicopter bought by his national army. We just think it's our generals job to choose the best stuff and we don't claim we know better than them, same like you don't see regular people asking >why my city's public transport rides Mercedes buses rather than Scania
I only see that obsession with military eq among Russians, so I can simply deduct everyone ITT is a proxy-russian
>>512208741 The ukraine had Europe's largest army, and the full weight of NATO intel, gear, staff and mercs behind it, and still lost. Most importantly, Russia's economy and military went from rusty to mobilized.
Poland will be much more fucked than ukranny when Russia moves on it.
>>512208753 What good is an attack helicopter if it has to stay extremely close to ground-bound air defense cannons to protect it from enemy loitering drones? The whole point of an attack helicopter is that it is free to move to where it's needed faster than land vehicles can.
>>512208732 (OP) Apaches do what drones canโt, and come with fancy EW systems these days. If you can control your own airspace, a helicopter like this is a fucking nightmare for any ground forces, especially light armor/foot mobile

If can ensure there are no enemy SPAA (say, w/ drones and artillery) or combat aircraft present, they can outrage MANPADS and control a LOT of ground. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kI1a7rUPEJM https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f-pL-b8b9Ow

>>512209097 The poorest country in Europe holding out 2.5 years against supposedly the second strongest military on earth pre war isnโt anything to sneeze about. >>512208732 (OP) Until there is a reliable way to move that much firepower that quickly to various areas along the front manned helicopters wonโt go anywhere. Early war people were hailing the death of the helicopter but both sides have still been using them effectively

>>512209262 If the conflict in Ukraine stopped in early 2023, I think we'd have performed reasonably well, considering that eastern Poland is covered by forests. Unfortunately it's not 2023 anymore, our NATO leadership is talking about preemptive strikes on Russia rather than bolstering defenses and considering the abysmal performance of NATO-orchestrated assaults in Ukraine, I'm afraid we'd lose that one quickly and decisively.
