We are taxed globally. The only reason to move to Dubai is to avoid taxation.

Yuropoors are already slaves who live in police states, so moving from a high tax police state to a low tax police state makes sense for them.

For us, we still have some freedoms. So we would move from freedom to a police state, and not gain any tax breaks by doing so, either.

Also we like land and space. Living in an apartment in the desert sounds awful.

I’m a white American who lives in Dubai.

My wife was born and raised here (went to college in USA) so that’s why I came, to try something new. To be honest I would not have picked it on my own, even after living here for some time. Dubai is nice but life is a bit one dimensional and there is no greenery, nature isn’t the best, and the culture can be a bit vapid (depends on your group). I really like the Emiratis/locals since they’re extremely chill (of course because their life is a bit subsidized). I also get along with the Brits since we’re both in the expat boat, but some of them that came for the #grind and became real estate agents are insufferable. They need to be careful with importing so many Indians however since once they reach critical mass it will be no different than India. Even the Indians with money are insufferable and 95% of them chips on their shoulder. But someone has to be willing to do extremely hard labor for 3000AED a month (and manage those people) so I get why they’re here.

USA despite its setbacks has a lot to offer. So we’ll see.
