This is the way, but forget the tent mate, build yourself something super simple and cheap and chuck it up with a few mates or solo yourself a little vertical log cabin. Doesn't have to be fancy, but anything is better than a tent long term. Even a trailer/caravan etc

Yeah nomad is probably the way to go if you have some kind of guaranteed monthly income. Canada has so much Crown land you can stay on for 14 days at a time. You could easily make a yearly rotation schedule.

I don’t have a guaranteed income, I just go around and do odd jobs wherever I’m at. Mostly lawn work during summer and I’ll sell firewood in winter.
my only monthly expenses is phone and car insurance and food for me and my dog, and I don’t even spend that much on food bc I hunt and forage mostly.
