My best friend is Vietnamese and I'm highschool his parents had this tiny tank with a solo beta fish. They NEVER changed the water and the tank didn't even have a filter. We did a "Spartan fish challenge" after watching 300, just kept introducing new beta fish from the pet store. His beta was so vicious we'd throw a captive in before school and come home to it floating on top with it's fins all bit off. After he won his fifth battle we decided to give this fish royal treatment as sole survivor and changed the tank water with fresh room temperature clean shit. Little fucker died 2 days later. RIP Spartan beta.

We let the water sit out for 24 hours, so the chlorine should have evaporated. And the tap water where I live is actually some of the best in the country. I've been drinking over a half gallon a day of it for over 15 years now. Better than bottled micro plastic. When I was real young our town was actually running off well water from one of those giant elevated containment tanks. We would sometimes find rust in the shower on the porcelain bathtub and the mineral deposits around the shower heads and faucets were so bad we would have to soak those in a vinegar solution every 6 months.

Im a 10 minute bike ride from lake Ontario and we now get our (treated) water from there plus a bit from the finger lakes it's pretty damn good. I went on vacation 3 years ago to Sarasota and the tap water smelled like shit I wouldn't even drink it. Coquina beach smelled like shit too. My buddy who moved there says that everytime they get more than 2 inches of rain they have to flush sewage overflow into the bay. Sad! I'd rather deal with 5 months of winter than live in year round paradise where you can't even drink the water or properly fish.

We don't have cockroaches where I live and wasps are toast if you pressure wash your house every summer. We do however have silverfish, stinkbugs, and spiders which my 3 cats hunt and eat. Unfortunately they haven't figured out that the stinkbugs release acid so when they eat a bunch they throw up for a couple days and then my wife wants to take them to the vet.
