The rich and the poor are still human and capable of all the foibles of humans. There isn't some special virtue or angelic aspect to the poor, same with the rich.
The main difference being that the rich can at least manage their money and the poor oftentimes cannot and even if you were to give them money, they quickly waste it.
For instance, giving junkies or bums a bunch of money doesn't translate to them changing their lives in a meaningful way, rather 99% of them will spend it on crap like drugs and hookers.
