It's pretty fucked up, you can go to jail for just looking at a woman these days.

I think women should be allowed to do as they please in any situation in any place
For example: women hate men, cool. Building catches fire and needs rescuing "USE YOUR INDEPENDENCE TO FLY DOWN OUT OF THE 12TH STORY MA'AM! AT YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE AND OF COURSE THIS IS A SUGGESTION AND I AM OPEN TO HEAR WHAT YOU THINK I SHOULD DO!"

That's already the law. The problem is that you need to proof that she lied, which is nigh impossible to obtain unless she admits to it out of sheer stupidity.

Yes, in a society where rape is a serious crime that could hold you behind bars for decades no leeway should be given for false accusations

Women who are raped should be considered adulteresses who are stoned to death along with their rapists.
This solves the problem.

There should be some kind of punishment, yes.
Prison? Eh.
Women are status driven.
Something that hurts their status would be more effective than locking them up in a box and feeding them 3X a day.
Pillory and public mockery with free rotten fruit and vegetables to throw at them.
Flogging.
Possibly branding them someplace prominent they can't easily hide for attempting to get an innocent man condemned to prison and destroying his life.
Hurt their status. For life.

No, because punishing women for this (which is extremely rare, like one in 2 million) discourages real victims from speaking out.

No. False.

We can construct a law that puts women who are proven, to a criminal standard, to have purooselfully lied with the intention of harming a man or his reputation. It doesnt just mean a woman goes to jail if the man is not convicted.

I would say men shouldn't get convicted without evidence. And an accusation is not evidence.

If we assume that all crimes are punished according to the severity of the crime, then lying about a crime has the potential to cause as much harm as the crime itself and should therefore be punishable accordingly.

>SLANDER IS AGAINST THE LAW
In the USA it is considered a Civil matter, so the best you can do is get monetary compensation for slander or libel.
Technically, you can try to have someone prosecuted for false criminal accusations, since that is a crime, as is perjury if they testify falsely in court, but that would mean you would be essentially also accusing the prosecutor of admitting false evidence in court, so it is hard to get cases like this in front of a jury unless you can afford to pay a well respected lawyer to press the issue.
The US State i live in used to have “Criminal Libel” as a prosecutable offense, but while it is still listed in the State legal Code, there is a note that due to a US Supreme Court Case, the charge is no longer considered Constitutionally legal.

It was a civil matter. In the US there is criminal court, where you get a jury a, and civil court that is only handled by a judge

False rape allegations should be punished by the maximum potential sentence the victim might have received.

It opens the door for “you better win your case or you go to jail”. I don’t think women should go to jail for “false accusations” unless it can be proved without a reasonable doubt.

They should be forced to pay 100% of the defendant's legal expenses, regardless of how big those expenses are. This will encourage innocent men who are falsely accused to hire the best lawyer available, since they ultimately won't have to pay a penny.

>We can construct a law that puts women who are proven, to a criminal standard, to have purooselfully lied with the intention of harming a man or his reputation.
for example, if they can be shown to have materially gained by lying about having been raped, for example with getting child custody, child support, the material benefits of a restraining order against your husband like a free house to live in and free phone service, then it will be easy to prove that they committed fraud. in fact, this law already exists, it just isnt used because this God forsaken fuckhole is beyond disgusting and must burn

No. But double-jeopardy should apply, even without a conviction.
