"Trust the science"
You trusted the "science" because you thought that the people working in Academia are honest, hard-working incorruptible nerds that rise humanely above everyone else to bring you the truth. Science became religion 2.0

This is only half the issue, there's a political bias in scientific publishing and acquiring funds. If you shove terms like 'climate change' and 'diversity, equitiy, inclusion' into papers, you're more likely to receive funding, even if it has no bearing on the paper. This creates a confirmation bias that there's a near 100% consensus on these issues.
Big science is completely pozzed, it has been since the mid 2000s.

I dropped my Ph.D after being pressured due to "ethical concerns" and spend the next 5 years writing papers and doing more or less degrees for rich people that didn't have the charisma for being in academia.

There is 0.000001% of actual scientists doing real applicable science outhere, mainly engineering and the rest of you that ride the title in hope you get the same status.

Science is "dead" because the bar has been dropped extremely low. 99.99999% of "scientists" dont have what it takes to be in science.

That includes you and me.

>between 2009 and 202X almost all research grants were given to "scientists" who included global warming as part of their research
That acted as a filter. Only dishonest researchers or diehard climate change activists received funding. After a few years all that was left were the dishonest "scientists" and the diehards.

“Peer review” is completely unscientific. It’s a glorified popularity contest essentially where big wigs get to promote and fund whatever they feel is important and can arbitrarily silence dissent by just choosing not to publish papers that they don’t like from institutions they don’t see as relevant.
So if the entire backbone of western science is unscientific then that means the entire enterprise is corrupt

Most obvious recent example is the tranny shit and men can be biological women stuff... these scientists and teachers KNOW its bullshit they fucking KNOW but they dont dare rock the boat because they are cowards so they play along to the detriment of all of society.

There are scientists who try to strive for honesty and blatantly corrupt, dishonest, scientists on the take:

The honest scientists have to play along as if Science® is the official religion of factual truth or be ostracized.
There's your scientific consensus bought by the same entities that buy politicians.

The whole body of science can't be completely trusted because of this.
Nevertheless, The State will put a proverbial gun to your head at the behest of the White-Coat Mafia whether you trust the science or not.

Wealth is stolen from you to pay for it
You're forced to comply with it
If you're harmed in some way by it, then tough shit. Try to PROVE it.

Karl Popper did not invent Science. His contributions to the philosophy of science has made science less pure and ensured its subordination to technological development. Any explanation is always retroactive. To test things, to offer predictions, that's gathering information through trial and error. Ultimately, it's no more than stamp collecting. It's only when we create a theory to explain the phenomena we have investigated, that we are actually doing science.

Any reasonable and correctly educated Scientist hasn't been able to "trust the Science" for the better part of a decade now. Peer reviewed papers can and are regularly P-hacked and the non peer review articles aren't even worth considering. Now, a Scientist has to manually review a given paper or thesis to double check if it sloppy dogshit or, as there is no longer any reasonable expectation that any given peer reviewed article has any *actual* Scientific bearing or relevance, or if it's just dogma misrepresented as fact

Basically the standard procedure is to churn out some dogshit thesis with all the magic words in it
>>512288317 >'climate change' and 'diversity, equitiy, inclusion'
In an attempt to fish for funding, it's the only way to gain relevance as a Scientist now is to make up the most plausible bullshit regarding any one (preferably all), get it peer reviewed, then laugh as you get funding for a study based on a paper they clearly lacked the ability to comprehend or simply didn't care to read

That's where all these "Scientists say breathing air is lethal" new paper articles are coming from. The scientists are desperate for relevance, and the media outlets are desperate to peddle fake shit as verifiable science. I hope the first person to invent a real teleporter refuses to explain how it works but instead insists it's powered by DEI spirit cooking energy, KEK

shekels.

research universities dont actually give much of a shit about coursework, nor do they even want their professors teaching. the goal is to find active researchers who are able to stipend themselves out of the grants theyre awarded - a large percentage of that stipend will be deducted from the base salary of the professor, despite the facility already taking up to 60% (!!!) of the grant money for overhead. new NIH rule caps this but the pussyaching will never end.

so, the arena of academia is wholly consumed by a “publish or perish” rat race. you publish half-baked shit in single-digit impact factor journals thatll make it to the 22nd century with single digit citations. we’re forced to pad our CVs so our institutions can harvest shekels to make sure the nigger affaleets are comfy and cozy with their paychecks

I'm pretty sure it does make testable predictions. You can predict that two creatures should have a common ancestor, and maybe you can even find it. And you can predict future events too. I guess you can't really feasibly test whether a chicken could really evolve into a t-rex, but you could calculate how long such a breeding program should last based on the rate of change. For smaller endeavors and smaller changes, you can observe the process in human time frames, like in vid related.

>we introduce an experimental device, the microbial evolution and growth arena (MEGA)–plate, in which bacteria spread and evolved on a large antibiotic landscape (120 × 60 centimeters) that allowed visual observation of mutation and selection in a migrating bacterial front. While resistance increased consistently, multiple coexisting lineages diversified both phenotypically and genotypically. Analyzing mutants at and behind the propagating front, we found that evolution is not always led by the most resistant mutants; highly resistant mutants may be trapped behind more sensitive lineages. The MEGA-plate provides a versatile platform for studying microbial adaption and directly visualizing evolutionary dynamics.

What 'scientific method'? This is the consensual scientism which is championed exactly by the people you disagree with. The Carl Sagans and the Neil De Grasse Tysons. You are turning science into something much more democratic, much more utilitarian, than how it was originally conceived.
Testing, proving, ect, are all just ways to persuade, to win arguments. Or alternatively, to create technology. Anyone with a basic grasp on epistomology can tell you that an idea doesn't become 'more true' just because you 'tested' it. Science really shouldn't be democratic. It should be reserved for people with the mental faculties, and the personal humility to acknowledge that they aren't uncovering hidden truths about the universe, but instead creating elegant models that ultimately serve no other purpose than to provide some aesthetic pleasure for the audience.

I didn't trust jack shit. In fact, I was questioning this horse shit from day one, especially seeing how they kept changing their minds about everything. And my distrust goes back way before Covid. I stopped believing "science" at face value right around the time they said that spending a fair amount of your leisure time playing video games makes you an addict with a mental illness, but getting your genitalia mutilated and hopping on artificial hormones to become the opposite sex because you feel like you were somehow born in the wrong body is perfectly normal.

no, they can't. there are many cognitive biases that actually affect smart people worse than dumb people.

if you're smart but ignorant your intelligence literally only makes you better at rationalising to yourself why your guess must be right, for example, and results in an unwarranted level of confidence that dumb people who know they're dumb don't possess and which thus makes them more cautious. just one example.

there is no substitute for actually knowing what the fuck you are talking about.

>a.k.a cooking the numbers to reach a desired conclusion
They were absolutely cooking the numbers for COVID. I got ONE (ONE) academic paper that floated across my desk that was old guard scientists going after the fake and gay COVID research. They were improperly using P values to cook their data and the old farts caught them. Not that it did much to help but it was nice seeing honest researchers diving into all the fake and gay COVID bullshit.
>>512292235
There is also a massive amount of politics in academia research etc. MASSIVE. Even before COVID and Trannys there were constant infights and sabotaging shit happening. Geeks and Nerds are just as vile as "the rest of us" when it comes to getting that name on a paper. Pressure to publish can lead to doctoring the research.

We like to pretend we're ahead of the game. But anything we discover the chinks steal, and corporations try to destroy so they can keep robbing us blind. Anyone seen Malcom Bendal's open source Thunderstorm Generator? Mind blown, it's amazing that the device itself is 100 percent open source (preventing Malcom's untimely demise) any application you invent using it, is yours. RIght now there are thousands of garage scientists building their own, meeting with others, discussing different configurations, testing, This work ties in nicely with Geoffry Drum's work (Land of Chem) on the true functions of the pyramids, or Thunderbolts Project Electric Universe Model. It is mind blowing how hard "academia" has pushed back on the EU model when literally everything coming back from the massive space telescopes affirms it. Once seen it cannot be unseen. After watching their videos on the Southwest you can see the lightening scars and then watch that wood burning with electricity correlation and you literally can't deny it. Now I see video that feature google earth for one reason or another and those structures are literally all over the world

There is science being done, but not by academia!

ok satan
but really what today in the early 21st century we all need is a full distrust of 'medical science' as : "science"
Modern medicine especially after World War II is far out of control.
Another misnomer is 'public health' <--which is largely a *civil engineering* problem (clean water supplies and sewage disposal in municipal areas)
The incessant focus *PROPELLED BY PHARMACEUTICAL CORPORATIONS* after World War II (same pharmaceutical corporations that *CONTROL ALL OF EARTH'S MEDICAL SCHOOLS*) on 'germs', 'medicine', vaccines and prescription of all forms of synthesized chemicals and drugs, is what needs to be doubted and reined in.

"Medicine" is no longer a science, especially when tied in with the Food/Big Agriculture industry that is poisoning the Earth and its population (in the financial interest of supplying the "medical" industry with more sick patient fodder) with synthetic garbage. It's a death cycle
For health to be attained we don't need "medical science" only proper civil engineering (for adequate prevention of disease vectors in populated settlements) and individual observation of whole food intake and physical exercise.
There's no need *AT ALL* for any 'medical science' or what that multiTRILLION $$$$$ industry is whoring/selling

Try finding contact information for people outside academia that study on and hypothesize on the subject of your paper. Try poking around Thunderbolts Project there's a lot of different scientists and citizen scientists working on that. I personally find the EU theory to solve almost all our "origins" issues, it's like a big AHA--so that's it. Make sure you copyright your paper before sending it off.

Personally I think it's more a magneticelectric universe, meaning I feel there's more magnetism involved than electricity alone.

And they often make up words. Like "Mcdonaldization" or "Poodle Option". Not kidding. Apparently there's some reward one gets for making up a word in one's research project that enters our everyday language and goes "viral".

Poodle Option sent me. I could not, for the fn life of me, figure out wtf he was trying to say.

i mean you could, but seeing as most academic misinformation comes from outside the scientific community and only pretends to be science (see, for example, the OP of this thread talking about paper mills) it's a weaker hypothesis.

you are right though that targeting the clever people who manipulate the stupid people is probably more ethical than targeting the stupid people who are manipulated. but i refuse to see the stupid people as victims. they want to be lied to. they want someone to tell them that they're smart and right and they want that more than they want to BE right, and that's how they end up being lied to - because they're not smart or right, so the only people who'll say that they are are liars.

anyone who tells you something that you agree with is useless to you and wasting your time.

Yeah it is pretty pretentious when you put it like that.

What I mean is it took me ages to understand just how deep the emotional/personality undercurrents run through people's behaviours. I basically never even bother arguing facts anymore because the facts don't matter. People choose what to believe based on feelings and then make up the facts that work for it.
