I think it's hard to know how serious the average person is, but it's hard to dispute that Christianity has 2000 years of inertia and that a huge number of people are raised from birth with it, so they never approach it with the skepticism that they would direct toward a new (to them) religion. Germanic religion would be especially hard because so many people would have a really hard time taking it seriously after all of the video games, movies, comics, etc. that have appropriated major aspects.
