The Tokyo metro train system moves 40 million passengers a day. That's more passengers than there are people in California.
Every. Day.
We will never have a top 10 global city with dliapidated rail infrastructure. It isn't logistically possible. The gridlock and traffic jams will naturally impede growth.

Look at all those railroads in South Dakota. Yet there's not a single passenger train serving any town in the state. It's so infuriating to see how our ancestors worked so hard to build a great nation, only for their descendants to let it decay out of sheer laziness and incompetence.

Elon Musk sells cars.
If more people are riding the train, less people are driving, which means less cars are needed to be purchased.
This means Elon Musk makes less money.
Logically, this means Congress will not fund rail construction.

My bad, I meant the air travel
It was better
But has more risk
>But more car deaths per year
More cars and drunk drivers behind the wheel account for a lot of that
The car gives you control
The car gives you awareness
The car can be stopped by your whim.
Good drivers go their whole lives without a single serious wreck or fatality
Pilots cannot claim the same when the percentages are balanced for availability.
Cats don't have radar and a control tower holding your hand
Aircraft do and when they fail it is 99% a guaranteed 100% percent mortality rate
Fuck that.
I would rather enjoy the slow and scenic route, and I do.

Your friends and family aren't gonna ever be there for any dream job and they certainly aren't gonna be able to support you so you don't have to work a job you hate
Conductors get paid bookoo overtime and you could make enough money to actually enjoy your time with family and friends
It's about planning visits anon, if you are that attached to your friends and family but want the job get the job and stay in weekly contact with them and plan bi annual visits if far away.
Or figure out what makes you happier and accept some other job you can stand so you can be near them.

American whites are such cucks, they cede all public spaces to niggers and hide away in their suburban homes, working diligently to pay Mr Shekelstein his mortgage every month and passively submitting to the latest rules from the HOA.
>except on trash pickup day, trash cans must be hidden from view by a lattice made of light-colored wood, with gaps no more than 2" x 2", and the lattice must be anchored to the ground. any violation of this rule will result in a $100 fine
Meanwhile niggers get subsidized housing and boldly occupy all public spaces, contributing nothing and screaming about muh oppression every time the cops try to rein in their liberated behavior. Much as I dislike niggers, I'm coming to despise white cucks even more.

>The Tokyo metro train system moves 40 million passengers a day.
Tokyo has 30 million people all living on top of each other in shoeboxes. Commuter rail is only economically viable when you have absurd population density. It makes no financial sense to spend tens of billions of dollars on a rail line that only a couple thousand people are going to ride per day, as would be the case for a rail line pretty much anywhere in the US since even downtown in our cities is all single family homes with dogshit population density.

And same thing with long distance high speed rail... That shit makes sense in China because they have hundreds of millions of rural peasants who aren't allowed to live in the cities who need a way to get from the countryside to their factory slave pens every week... Long distance high speed rail accomplishes that for them. It would do nothing in the US that air travel doesn't already accomplish several times as efficiently.

I have owned both a Ford and GMC truck and the Ford sucks. Far more mechanical problems. A friend who knows a lot about trucks only drives Chevy or GMC. He put 600,000 miles on one.
Toyota trucks also good. Terrorists' choice.

I live innawoods and have no mortgage, I wasn't born innawoods, I indeed ceded the suburbia/urban area I was born in to niggers because if I started buck breaking I'd be sent to nigger central, prison, immediately. Suburbia/urbania are absolute shitholes that aren't even worth saving, I hate olive garden et al, I made the move that made the most sense to me and I've never been happier. Call me a cuck for fleeing if you want but innawoods is where men belong and if you city fags actually manage to upset the balance then I'll be here growing apples and potatoes and will happily supply you with what I can, until then, fuck off and enjoy sharing society with niggers and kikes

You are aware that passenger trains and freight trains run on the same rails, right? Go start a passenger rail company if you think it's such a good idea

They're honestly all pretty much the same, trucks are just built like shit and have like a 20% chance of being a lemon. I know somebody who runs a big (hundreds of vehicles) commercial fleet that uses all 3 of the domestic brands and he's said the same thing. Once in a while you get one particular generation of a specific truck that's an outlier, either dogshit or legendarily reliable, but even with that it really only ends up being like a 5-10% difference.

We're going to have autonomous vehicles why would we need railways? It should be logistically better too.

I find Chevy to be the weakest of them with jap diesels and ifs. There is a reason most hotshotters and farmers who arenโ€™t inundated with Chevy since birth use fords or rams.

California has plenty of public rail lines like the MetroLink. The reason America doesn't have bullet trains is because it doesn't make logistical sense for America to have bullet trains. I think people often forget that transportation is a market that needs demand to drive, and there is not enough demand for bullet trains over standard 100mph commuter trains for intermediate distances and domestic flights for slightly longer distances. The United States has the largest rail network on Earth, but it's all freight, because there is simply more of a market for freight trains than passenger trains in the United States, and it turns out the retards crying "muh public transport" are actually a loud minority

For what it's worth, I think CAHSR as a basic idea makes sense. There's a lot of travel between LA and SF and the roads and airports are already full. (Plus both cities have shitty airport locations.) It's just that the route chosen is pants on head retarded and it's been dragged down to hell by political fuckery. Japan managed to ram their HSR straight up their hilly-ass coast in the '60s and CA could absolutely do the same, and having the views that the coastal route would offer would make it a huge tourist draw too.
