In red states squatters are forcibly ejected at gun point. If they fight back they get shot. It has to be justified in court so the shooter might spend a day or two in jail. The government will 100% drop the charges. No jury in a red state is going to convict the homeowner. Even if the squatters are running away off the property and are shot in the back the homeowner will likely walk. The police do recommend larger caliber bullets because dead people are less paperwork.

Really I wanted to take the general direction towards transhuman research and make artificial eyes and other artificial organs.
