No matter what modern feminists say, marriage will always just be a glorified sex contract. That's what it always was and that's what it always will be.
That's the root of the whole thing. I mean think about it. The only reason all cultures seem to have evolved marriage independently, is because it's the easiest way to stop tribal jealousy based killings because of sex.
In ancient times, you see a hot chick you fuck her, and now some other ape-man is upset you fucked 'his' girl and now he can't be sure any kids she makes is his for at least 9 months. That's a problem. He is going to take it out on you.
How do you solve this?
Grab everyone in the tribe and have a big announcement. I'll be fucking this one. If anyone has any issues say it now and we can sort it out, else forever hold your peace. There shall be no sleep-killing.
If someone were to violate this thing we tribally agreed to, they'd be killed or exiled.

Modern marriage is a useless abomination, with all kinds of prenups, no fault divorces, and maritial rape rules.
Women actually want men to rape them in marriage. The female sex drive is responsive for that reason. They want to be taken. They are sexually happy and satisfied when it's socially accepted that they cannot say no.
The problem only occurs when we start thinking about female consent in the bounds of a marriage as something relevant. If you give her the choice she will 9/10 times say no because she's not designed to have a sex drive at all.
For 70k years of human history, the female experience of sex is a big man fights or makes deals with another man or her father and then fucks her with her having near 0 say in it.
