Definitely. I look normal and I'm fit, so people approach me. I can manage well with brief interactions, but any time someone has a few extended conversations with me they never want to associate with me again. I have stellar reviews on Facebook marketplace so it's not like I'm rude. Idk what it is, it's like people are interested in being my friend then after a short while it's poof and they're gone.

This. Friendships are extremely transactional, especially adult ones. If you're not on a similar looks level and you're not of comparable social status, being friends with others is damn near impossible.

I only realized i might be heavily autistic in my late 20s, but i've always had plenty of "friends". People have always found my natural deadpan and pragmatism "funny" and have used me has makeshift therapist and problem solver. To the point where my "friends" would never drop me even if i was mean or ignored them for long.

Nowadays i have one friend i can speak freely with, the rest are remnants of highschool that still keep contact with me every now and then to invite me to weddings or birthdays.
