I had to wait nearly 36 hours in the ER when I broke my wrist. I also had to pay over $50,000 for the surgery. It is absolutely worse here in the US. People act like you can magically get in to see a doctor in two seconds. Just because a simple medical procedural will bankrupt you in this country doesn't change the fact that a certain number of people need medical care and you have to wait in order to get that care.

Healthcare is pretty fucked here. The only people I ever hear about going to the emergency room are true life and death cases or people who forgot to drink water. Honestly thinking back on my life I would say it is about 50/50 between those 2 cases. I know 4 people who had diarrhea and proudly say they went to the er because they were dehydrated.

We had a birth center plan set up as soon as we could but had to move around 26 weeks because of an act of god family tragedy. the whole concept of AI going rogue is pretty dumb. AI needs tons of processing power and electricity. it might suck turning off your precious data center and not being able to stream superhero movies in 4k, but you can still do it. at the end of the day, AI still doesn't control the hardware and mechanical switches. unless we are looking at an AI stuxnet situation which would be amazing, hopefully leading to the destruction of technology.

We wanted to, sorry if that wasnt clear. We bought a litany of supplies after doing our research but ended up going to the ER after we hit that 42 week threshold. Even after the stretches, perineal massages and castor oil potions she wasnt dilated at all despite the regular and intense contractions when finally relented and went. Was pretty hard on my faith, all we ever wanted to do was trust the body God gave her to do its thing. We will simply try again next time- we've heard that subsequent births are easier.

Boy. We actually got very lucky with the vampire nurses and doctors leaving us alone after we stated our preferences, we simply said we do not want him circumcised nor do we want any shots or the vitamin k drops and that was that for the most part. Just be very very bluntly clear from the get go, keep your ears 100% open and dont zone out- you need to be there just to be an imposing force that breathes down their necks because they do exploit the fact that your wife is in pain and out of it to rapid fire paperwork and consents her way because she's technically the patient. We're in miami so having mostly Hispanic staff definitely played a part, god forbid you have white or kike doctors and nurses.
