will humanity take on to challenge of space travel?
there is a plan to create self contained ecosystem ship that travels in space to a star called Proxima Centauri in the hope of finding out the planet orbiting the star is liveable (its as big as Earth but not too big and not too small, which is encouraging)
we cannot remotely see what kind of atmosphere the planet has but we can see the planet itself with James Webb telescope
>it takes 250 years to reach the star and another 250 years to return Earth so it is so called "generational ship" were people must agree they put their children into ship controlling roles and they cant have another career

>who would finance it? what does he get in return for financing it?
maybe they can create the ship in the coming years and send it to space in 2030 but who will accept to go into that ship? they would have to leave everything behind
children who will be born on the ship will live 100 years only to realize they will never see either Eath or Proxima Centauri
the ship would need to be able to evade rogue asteroids that may or may not travel in dark space in between our Sun and Proxima Centauri, we do know that behind Pluto there is a lot of asteroids.. but they are part of our own solar system and wont leave it because they are bound by Sun's gravity
