You know Teddy Roosevelt was shot while campaigning too. I always found it weird how politicians in the early 20th century managed to get shot. Like how did Archduke Ferdinand get killed? The guy who shot him basically needed to do it at point blank range to kill with his shitty antiquarian pistol. When Roosevelt was shot he just laughed it off and continued giving a speech that lasted like an hour, that's how weak guns were.
