>didn’t take Trump’s tariff threat seriously
>get hit 39% tariffs on Swiss products
>businesses in Switzerland told you to go to Washington D.C and propose a deal to lower tariffs
>scramble to get a plane ticket the next day to get there
>Trump nor any of his trade team didn’t even bother meeting you
>Get told to fuck off by Marco Rubio
This is embarassing holy shit. How do you fuck up this bad? Swiss goods are already expensive and getting slapped by 39% tariffs on top of it basically tells “we don’t want your shit”.

Tariff is a form of trade barrier. Importers will refuse to take your shit if it doesn’t sell. Either jack up the prices and get your products outcompeted by cheaper alternatives or eat up import taxes and operate in a loss. Why do you think trade partners are negotiating to lower Trump’s tariffs?

Tariffs hurt both parties, but it hurts us way more because we don't make anything or only have small manufacturing for the tariffed products that are way more expensive and are small-scale compared to what is needed. We lose, and the big corporations will try to raise prices even more on shit even if the tariff is miniscule like what they did during the "supply chain shortages".

No. Median income in the US is $42K, we pay almost as much in taxes as European countries like Switzerland do, but we still have to pay for all of the benefits they get through their taxes, out of pocket. Rent is way more expensive here too and cars create car insurance dependency which eats away at your paycheck too. Americans are fucking poor unless you are a boomer or a woman.

>American wage premium makes those products even less competitive.

I realized that the American way of life is so expensive and artificial that it's very easy for other countries to out-do us.

Take for example making copper. The raw good is equal if it's of the same percentage of copper through and through. The good is as simple as you can get. This means that whatever company that produces it the cheapest will earn the most profit. This means countries with low wages.

Now, the biggest thing people don't realize is that low wages don't mean a low quality of life. For example, some 3rd world engineer may only be paid $12K a year, but his taxes are probably less, and his taxes go to services such as healthcare that he can actually use. He probably can just take a bus to work and walk to the store, so he doesn't need to piss with kike car insurance or paying for a mechanic. His rent may only be $150 / month. You see my point.

America is done. If you want to have a future, go to some other country before the dollar dumps and all of the rich Americans flee to the country you choose to go to.

Tariffs only started in earnest a month ago so that's pretty fucking bad. Bragging about the tariff revenue is retarded too because the stated goal of those tariffs means eventually that revenue will drop off as imports dry up. Meanwhile manufacturing jobs are down, factory orders are down, and exports and investment were all down last quarter, which seems counterintuitive to the whole "we're bringing manufacturing back" thing.

I'm not looking forward to a US that copies the retarded trade policies of Brazil, personally, and is stuck with them for decades.

America has a strong consumer base unlike Brazil, and every country in the world has tariffs or some form of trade barrier. Trump’s gamble worked because most allies except Canada(lmao) cooperated and wants access to the American market despite tariffs and it’s generating money now for the federal govt.

Most non-luxury foreign goods don’t raise prices and eat up tariffs rather than passing it to the cosumer and get outcompeted by cheaper product in the market. If it’s that easy they won’t be negotiating to the White House. You stupid niggers act like Tariff is VAT.

All of Trump's tariffs have exceptions making them pretty much fucking useless. It's just a tax on the poor and middle class that does not extend to the rich.
