I lived in Salt Lake City once and used the transport there, and some fucking black guy thought it would be funny to punch a Mormon dude in the back of the head, a bunch of women started laughing and homeless junkies hitching a ride also laughed too. I was livid seeing this unfold. I literally yelled at everyone to act like adults and then some other dudes who were not retards along with myself checked on the Mormon guy, luckily he was ok.

The only time in my life I've taken public transportation was for a 60 day period where my drivers license was suspended for DUI but I still needed to get to my college classes. It wasn't terrible but just inconvenient more than anything, having to adjust my schedule around the bus route rather than going where I want when I want freely. But this was in a suburb in Phoenix, really not many people ride the bus in the first place.

Even if you don't get attacked by black criminals there is a good chance you will get shamed by 304s on social media for not giving up the seat you paid for.

We need high speed rail but because Amtrak holds a federal monopoly, it'll never happen. Only Florida is building a high speed rail system, I believe. And they're doing it in spite of the government.

Though I have to say that wokes succeeded in making our cities undrivable so maybe some part is due to them since you're literally just staying in a traffic jam all day if you go by car.

I like public transport actually.
Most of the time, it's just fine and genuinely kinda cozy.
Although, there's no getting around that if you spend enough time on it you will inevitably run into the crazy homeless crackhead who smells like piss or the evidence that he/she's been there.

Transit agencies have been getting a bit better about security though given all the bad publicity and I'm hoping in the future we'll be locking the shitheads up forever.

I only took public transport a few times for the experience. Luckily I never ran into anyone mentally insane, was never robbed, and nobody tried to assault me. I have seen enough videos online though to know that happens daily.

Bad experiences with scheduling. I went to Los Angeles about 12 years with a friend for 5 weeks. We thought "public transportation will be a really cool way to see the area". While I met some great people and overall had a decent experience, public transportation made up for about 20% of our day and it wasn't worth it. For every 10 hours of plans we had that day, we were on the bus for probably 2.5 hours. Planning around public transport was a very large issue, and this is for two guys that had no schedule or agenda. I can't imagine having to plan my every day around it.

I understand the necessity of it, but it doesn't work for me.
