My mom is trying to set me up with her coworkers daughter. I’m 38, she is 27.
Apparently she likes videogames and doesn’t go out much, stays up late at night; so we’re a good match there.

My mom says she didn’t bring it up before because she assumed she was fat, but she is actually skinny. She didn’t comment on attractiveness, but I’m also not sure how she found out she was skinny anyways, so I dunno if she is ugly skinny or she just caught a glimpse of her in a FaceTime call.

Seemed awkward so I just gave a sort of sarcastic “yes” she correctly took as a “no”, but I thought about it and… how the hell else am I going to find a late night videogame shut in gf?

I don’t want bar skanks, and I definitely don’t want to pick them up from the bar. It would make me the more adventurous and outgoing person in the couple, which has seldom been the case for me.

I kind of feel like I should roll the dice. I have not been on a date since the pandemic and it might actually be my best shot at a partner compatible with my lifestyle.

Anyone else have their family try to set them up? How did it go?

I've been on dating apps as a early 30 year old man and the dating pool is just... exhausting to say the least.. basically only one in 30 women are dateable really, and matching with them and having mutual chemistry feels like a 1 in 1000 odds.

Like yeah maybe you can find a similar or better woman, but it's not worth sorting through the mediocrity for weeks and months at our age, and going on bland dates where there's zero chemistry is just such a drain
