Cuba is shit obviously because it's a tiny island that has also been an economic island for 60 years. There's still a tight grip on their local economy, but even if they loosened up some, they still would pretty much be in the same boat because of the sanctions.

Not even China or Russia really care about Cuba either. It's just used by them for having an "ally" close to the US.

But the ones from Cuba that fled initially were often the rich, exploitive. It's amazing how many times I see comments about Cuba from Cuban Americans who say "my father/grandfather owned a giant plantation and Castro took it away and we had to flee.
