>>512452211 (OP)It's a war of attrition and arty and drones make massed maneuver warfare from WW2 or Desert Storm unviable. Ukraine was also flooded with weapons and financial help from entire NATO so Russia is not really fighting *only* what Ukraine has.
Regardless of all that, the Russians are still effectively grinding the Ukrainians down. But people continue to imagine these big arrow offensives and so on.
In fact, after the war settled post 2022 and Ukraine regained some territory after the initial Russian regime-change attempted blitz, Ukraine did try big arrow offensives.
They did the spring 2023 offensive in the Orikhiv-Robotyne directions and also in other areas.
And in 2024 they did Kursk, but these eventually were obliterated with very heavy casualties on the Ukrainian side.
So big, massed maneuvers don't work in this new type of warfare with nations that have some weapons and frontline parity.
But Russia will grind this down. Eventually for Ukraine it will probably be a Germany in 1918 type of front collapse from troop and materiel depletion and constant Russian pressure.
