Mostly because of post war Stalin times in which there was a great recovery of the country at all levels, for which it was necessary to eliminate all the corruption that prevented this restoration and a lot of freebies like housing. medicines, spas, etc.
And LOTS of ideological propaganda.
In short, people were stupidly bought with promises of a better life, which in fact was the case for a certain period of time under Stalin and a little after him.
And the fact that it all started with a bloody revolution in which their own leaders killed their people aka Russians was forgotten.
