I was living on about $20 an hour for years. Social Security is NOT a retirement plan. It's a safety net for old people who spent their youth buying hookers and fancy shoes. I can't help you with finding jobs. Hopefully, everyone other than stockholders understands that you won't retire young if things stay the way they are.

You can gamble on making babies and hoping that will get you your pay expectations...but I don't recommend it. Family man ambition is just a game of musical chairs. I've seen a whole lot of them get cut out as soon as the kids were out of the house.

Social security is, by definition, a pyramid scheme and it's unethical to force any person to participate. The boomers came into adulthood in the wealthiest time period in the wealthiest country on the planet. If they failed to save for their own retirement, or raise strong families that would care for them, that's their problem.

They are supposed to survive by saving up more than $1,000 a month to live off of in retirement. By at least 3 - 4x that amount. Turns out living is expensive, and it turns out, old fuckers cost a lot to keep alive, and I'm tired of paying for them to keep their wealth, their health, and their government benefits that are about to cause the financial system to implode. Technically, mortgage not rent. Almost half went into that payment every month. If you bought a house in 2000 and refinanced when the rate were low, you'd be paying about $900 a month for a modest house in Ohio, even less if you aren't paying taxes and insurance through that payment.

When it started getting tight, I cut back on things. Utilities cost more than your estimate but VA cost almost nothing. Groceries do NOT have to cost that much. Stick to cheaper dining. Transportation and car insurance went way down during Covid. A cell phone can be $35 a month if you go with Walmart Straighttalk, etc. Debts are your business, but I took out a home improvement loan that I paid about $300 a month on. I maxed out my employer matching IRA. Otherwise, I lived on cheap Walmart clothes, etc.

I WAS expecting to have to work until 70, but I was a bum in early life and I walked out on a military pension so I had almost nothing until about 5 years out of the military. Didn't even start a home mortgage until about 40 years old.

Post 2008 recession has been hell, but I did drive it down to about age 67 for retirement if I reverse mortgaged the house. Luck did finally come my way and I was a beneficiary in three estates last year. My worth is now enough, but I don't really think I need to give up my Social Security. YOU need to stop letting your government sheer the sheep all the time.

I'd agree that it's a waste of time to organize if you're going to depend on family men to have your back. Don't become one. Don't put things that you value within their reach or they'll knife you in the back and take them from you.

Just accept that this is a civil war. It will be in your lifetime and I'd advise you not to put your money where they can take it all away from you "because of the widdle chillin'." Just don't plan on ever getting my Social Security. They'll take it from me to buy weapons to kill you. Play their game and take their baby perks.

Ohio is an "at will" state. If you tend to argue with the boss man about your rights, you'll have a hard time. I worked in tech but my skills were that of a Navy trained data systems tech who also got certified in Windows networking. After age 50, nobody cares what your skills are if you're not actively recruited for an executive job, and those jobs are mostly nepotism/patronage choices but they'll likely ask you to be bag man if you don't have kids at home anyway.

I worked with 20 year olds who barely could manage to show up most mornings on time. At this point in time, Ohio employers have totally cooked the hiring pools from employment agencies. If you want to keep your job, you don't really have to try that hard, as long as showing up on time isn't that big of a battle for you. Just remember that your office is likely dog-pack mentality and you'll need to prove your worth to someone. Finding out who to impress is the trickiest part.

Social Security is already insolvent. I'm 37, I've been paying the SS Tax for my entire employed life. I will never see a dime of social security, neither will anyone behind me, and probably a few people in front of me won't either. It has now reached the point where we need to borrow to cover it. It has to go, make a guarantee to fund people who are already a certain age or near it, issue a tax credit to everyone else, and then sunset the program. It's over, it's done. The longer it goes on the worse it'll be.

The closer you get to Lake Erie, the more liberal they get. The lake towns are old union steel industry towns, mostly shrinking and cutthroat, also a bit more organized crime than most people are led to believe. Columbus is solidly conservative but they're the capital and thus it's kind of a government service industry place. Also, I'd avoid the east side of the state if you want to avoid that mob feel. Old coal industry towns once you get near West Virginia.

I've worked as a consultant and supported satellite offices in most of the state so I do have a small amount of experience in most of the larger towns. I'm in NE Ohio because family are are there.

If you want to get rich, it's probably still Columbus but you'll need to be political.

The solution is public access, subsidized retirement homes for the elderly, instead of a paid lump some every month to live on their own.
Like how it's cheaper to feed and house prisoners than it is your average citizen (lower quality of life in prison ergo less capital investment required), the same principle could work for the elderly (of course, the retirement homes shouldn't be akin to prisons, but the point still stands).

It's cheaper to build subsidized retirement homes than it is to give every old person $1,500 - $2,000 a month, each, with which to struggle by in life on their own.

Also, that way, we have a place to stick our fuckin geriatrics when they start bugging us.

Every child that is a US citizen receives 10k in the 1st year of birth to an investment account untouchable until age 62. The person, the parents and family members, employers etc can contribute to the fund. If the person dies before the age of 18 the parents get only their specific contribution back minus fees and tax the rest goes back into the pot. No need for government bureaucracy except to seed the 10k or 5k whatever.
To initiate- 18 to 49 year olds can now contribute an extra 25k to their 401k and get a tax credit of some sort. 49 to 62 an extra 30k to catch up. 62 to 68 an additional x amount to soc sec over that 6 year year period to total 25k in additional soc sec benefits. 68 and above 5 lump sum payments to buy out points to shut down the entirety of soc sec and it's over. It's dissolved. What was deemed necessary when the population was low and times were different needs to change and evolve and prepare for obsolescence. The time for soc sec ending is now. Let the bureaucracy pay into the financial management firms for money to the infirmed. It doesn't need a giant hulking bureaucracy. It needs streamlining.

>How are old people on fixed income supposed to survive.
Get a fucking job like everyone else.
Social Security was never intended to pay for healthy, able bodied people to spend decades of their lives on permanent paid vacation.
It is Social Security INSURANCE. The original intent was just to pay for the few old farts who lived to be so old and decrepit that they could no longer take care of themselves.
In 1937 when it was created, the life expectancy was 62, and 62 was set as the age when someone could first start collecting benefits. The system worked because most people literally wouldn't live long enough to collect anything.
But now, life expectancy has crept up to almost 80, but people can still start collecting money at 62. Not only do far more people live long enough to start getting SS money, they live much longer and receive far more money than anyone intended.
The whole thing could be easily fixed by increasing the age to start collecting benefits to 80, and peg it to the average life expectancy.
There is zero reason why boomers in their 60s and 70s who are still healthy enough to travel the world and drive around in RVs and boats should be getting welfare, paid for by struggling younger workers who are actually productive members of society.

>raise the minimum wage
Federal minimum wage is basically irrelevant because less than 2% of the US workforce actually gets paid minimum wage. The defacto minimum real world wage in most places is at least double the legal minimum wage.
It's a red herring, and the only reason Democrat politicians care about minimum wage is because a lot of cushy union contracts are based on multiples of minimum wage, and the fat cat union bosses already making well into the six figures who give lots of money and votes to Democrat politicians would get a cushy kickback if minimum wage was increased.

You don't get it back because that money was spent as soon as you paid it.
You weren't paying that money into some kind of savings account or retirement plan, you were paying a tax, and that tax revenue was being used to pay welfare to old people.
You currently pay income tax, and have been for your entire working life. Some of that money was being used to pay for gibs and handouts to niggers and everyone else. If we stop giving handouts and gibs to niggers, you obviously don't get any money back.

Most of history included immigration control and tariffs too.

In all honesty, Social Security should pay most people about half a living wage and they have two choices. Don't live fancy in old age or don't live fancy now and save the money.

American economics has always been like a monarchy. There's always perks for those who serve and those who don't try to be self-reliant only get enough to keep them from being a liability to the community. It always was designed with the freeloader's bad behavior in mind.

People can collect at 62, yes. The gamble is whether or not you live longer than the calculations are set for. If you start at 62, you'll collect about $1200 a month when you'd collect about $2000 a month if you wait until you're 67. You max out the increases at age 70.

These people do know a bit about accounting. Congress, not so much.

...I just retired at age 63....because I could! I inherited about a million. When I die, what is left goes to a veteran's charity for those with combat disabilities, because I don't want even a penny to go to the widdle chillin'.

Speaking as an old "the boomers", I can say that we are a physical liability and struggle to learn new things. When you have at least 60 years of memories to process, you tend to not have much space in your head for filing new experiences.

You're in a rush to maximize your potential. We mostly want to maximize the time we have left here. Now, imagine the scenario where we are trying to extend our lifespans into a significantly new range. If greater longevity requires the purging of trivial memories, would you allow us to let down our guard and cynically interpreted experiences, or would you commit it all to a "culture" where you are defined by your greatest enemies.... all fellow humans. Our greatest gift to the next generation is likely our shared experiences that allow you to file your memories and just record the things that you don't need total recall for. I'm fairly sure that you're not eager to punch the final clock when you reach age 40 or so, even if your employer is.

Maybe you just need to accept that nobody WILL be giving you free stuff throughout life. Perhaps you've had too much handed to you already.

Social Security was part of a package of programs when the country was in a economic depression and was meant as a last resort. All of the other programs ended or got kiked and now people use it as their pensions that boomers let jews take away. You are advocating for something that only became that way because of politics and kikes. It's gonna fail when the US is no longer the dominant consumer market and our money has to actually be worth it's real value.

Blah-blah! You forgot the word "literally".

Yes, the lifespan of the average American has increased significantly over the last century. What you haven't accepted is that we old farts aren't just sitting on a shelf and gaining value like an old antique. You really don't seem to even imagine the days where you know that it's all downhill from now on.

Your "Logan's Run" scenario is problematic in that young people will always vote for more luxury by killing off others who take from community pool. If you lower the maximum age, you also lower the vote for those who represent that age. Where does it stop?

This is all silly rhetoric. You're wasting our time with blaming old people for your lack of prosperity. Personally, I consider this one of the dumber psy-ops on /pol/. Get paid for what you're worth. How do you make it happen? You organize. How do you organize? Not my problem, but I'll give you this for free....don't start a family while you talk about starting a war.

okay schizo but you need a driver's license, you need to register your car/inspection unless it's exempt(not because of schizo shit. classic cars and the like type stuff), and you need insurance in lieu of a bond you have the option to post in some states. Not a sovtard bond though, a bond backed by a real asset(stock, land, money in a account, etc).

I haven't had to present the physical card in a long time. Usually they just ask for your Goy ID number. Only for paid plasma donation did they require the physical card, but I never went through with it because I don't want kikes to literally suck my life fluids out of my body in exchange for a few goybucks.
