Correct.
Those systems can't see drones with their radars. Those are too small. Therefore they are not very effective. Also there's gazillions of drones and only couple dozens of those systems.
>>512465472 >effective point defense AAA has been a thing since 1942
And then it was phased out towards the end of the 20th century. Those Gepards were not in service anymore in 2022. And where they get all this ammo from, till this day, is sketchy as hell.
Germany had only 30k rounds in 2022 and they are swiss made and licensed.
>>512464394 (OP)
They work for their intended purposes though, just like cope cages (previously known as cage armour). /k/tardation really has done a retarded number on the nomenclature of these systems

If it works, it works. Nafotroons are just subhuman enough not to understand the concept of creating material distance to the impact location. It makes a difference if a nail goes through your bare foot or trough your shoe first
Reminder that it was the Russians who first built such corridors and then the hohols were making fun of it and presenting it to the western audience as some kind of cope.
>>512466970
Germanon... The Russians lost the initial assault initiative because they hadn't unlocked the supply pallet tech tree yet. What did you expect from them?
>>512468456
That's funny, because by all accounts it's NATO that can't seem to supply enough weapons or ammunition to the Ukraine. Maybe you should write your congressional representative and ask them to invest in more pallets.

so up the working frequency, use multistatic systems, make many cheap guns >>512465656
please stop, anon, I don't want a bigger hardon >>512466381 >where they get all this ammo from
cough*romania*cough
>>512465472
Gepard is very round hungry, you would shoot for 10 mins then run out of ammo. You would need infinite reloading to get it to work efficiently.
>>512465472
how much would it cost to make and field one of those
how many drones could it realistically stop
how many drones would it take to realistically take it out
the cost to benefit ratio probably makes it not worth it, even if they did have them ready to go with plenty of surplus ammo
>>512469154
a Gepard is probably not cost effective
but consider something like a golf cart with a belt-fed electro-optically aimed gun on top that fires 40mm electronically fuzed shells
make it able to get its cues from radars and other systems
>>512469154
You would need millions of rounds available and ammo depots of its rounds all near the gepards locations, it consumes WAY TOO MUCH munitions to be sustainable. Itβs brilliant but for 10 mins of defense then itβs a sitting duck.
