>>512467692you’ve never came a from a family in higher education.
teachers, principals etc spend countless unpaid hours off the clock nearly every day for the most inane things.
you have no idea how ridiculous it is being called by 10 parents every morning asking for the dumbest things imaginable or former students or even current ones.
things they should’ve figured out by reading whatever info was sent their way.
but they’ll still ask you on your own personal time for answers and you can’t even block them or say no because then you’ll be out of a job.
let alone all the after school non sense.
gradings.
the fact we have to spend multiple weeks of excellent weather that could be used for a vacation learning some new way of doing our job that we may not even adopt and this out of the clock time spent ofc won’t even be paid.
when people say teachers are underpaid they’re talking about all these inane things and then some.
example i know a principle.
he has to constantly give former student’s transcripts.
this students or parents ask for them during his weekends mainly.
one day he had 6 students call him.
he isn’t being paid for this time.
some schools do make students pay for it but because his school isn’t a wealthy one and neither its academic alumni he doesn’t want to cause unneeded financial burden on the students so he does it for free.
it takes time and money to 1 get these transcripts printed, sealed and then sent to whoever asked.
