I've noticed a trend in political discussions online. A lot of people seem to think that proving someone is a hypocrite is the same as proving that they're wrong. Here's an example I've seen a lot recently
>A: Trump should release the Epstein files
>B: But you didn't call for Biden to release the files, hmm?
In B's mind, that's a sufficient response. But it's obviously not- one, they never address the topic of Trump releasing the files, and two, they're just assuming that A didn't ever want Biden to release the files.
Is this some autism thing with me, or a rhetorical trick, or are people just getting more retarded?
