Anon, what do you think religion is?
While God may want you to have the veneer of being good to give people the gospel while they may believe it, religion is man trying to justify himself to God, the whole planet has people who are aware of the context, but can’t think critically enough that the religious law and their inabilities to keep them show that man KNOWS he’s guilty, and this is read back through every culture and every race. Everything single one of them has had an encounter with religion, atheists are no different functionally in this regard because unbelief is a sin for the same reasons that religious people have unbelief in God for thinking they can justify themselves rather than trust God to do it for them.
Religion turns the focus from God to you, and that’s why it’s even allowed in this world. This is what the book means by “there is a way that seems right to man, but leads to suffering.”
Look at religious atrocities, and you will see every perfect opportunity where Satan can use it to get people to deny God and slander him.
Fuck the cross was the context of religious men handing God over to be crucified because they hated him. I don’t know how fucking obvious God could have made it at this point. The gospel condemns man’s ability to merit salvation, and that’s precisely why Satan allows religion. Even ones that identify God.
