Perhaps the greatest betrayal of the 20th century is how the British recruited the Christian Assyrians of Mesopotamia to fight for them in exchange for a country and then abandoned them in Iraq and left them to be disarmed and slaughtered by the muslim arabs and kurds. There used to be millions of Assyrians in Iraq. Today there are maybe 200,000.
