Is anyone surprised? Ukraine is failing. China which was originally built up and developed in the 90s/2000s for the sole purpose of threatening Russia has decided to side with Russia for cheap food/oil since 2016. Russia has nearly as much oil as Saudi Arabia they can easily break the petrodollar down and with it global trade and all it takes is undercutting prices. So what options does the US have? Japan? Refuses to remilitarize. Afghanistan? Oops lost that too. Finland? Perpetually neutral and has their own conscription. So naturally Iran is the only option left to get within striking distance of Russia. There's no shot of convincing Russia to privatize their oil or Iran for that matter. Thankfully there's a genocidal theocracy in the middle east that just happens to hate Iran. It's not going to last, the US needs to accept the fact that they can't fix the price of oil anymore.
