Illegals aren't the same thing as slaves and they weren't counted as full because they didn't think niggers were human (except when it came to the census, hence the compromise)

Because of a vaguery of language in the Constitution that says the Census counts "the whole number of persons in each state". Obviously, intentionality has a very strong stance on this and this has been legally argued since forever but we've never had a specific and defining Supreme Court ruling on it.

Trump actually challenged the concept when he was fighting to get illegals off the census in 2020, but the Court didn't give a ruling and instead dismissed it saying it was "premature to rule at this time". The three Liberal justices said, naturally, illegals should be on the census.

The Supreme Court also blocked Trump from adding a citizenship question to the census in 2019.

So the answer is: It's not unconstitutional to exclude them, it hasn't been properly challenged and ruled on in court, and honestly we might as well fucking do it because if we don't it only gets worse.

The problem is, yes that is something that should be documented, but the US Census isn't just "how many people live in your country", it's also how states get apportioned total Representatives for Congress. The House of Representatives is capped at 435 voting members, and that number is divided among the 50 states based on their population. So states that are packed with illegals, even though those illegals cannot vote in state and federal elections, still get more apportioned Reps for the House, diluting or cancelling out the vote of states without illegals.

The census has many purposes. Allocating budgets for emergency services and schooling included. Illegals often ignore the census which causes services to be strained by unexpected numbers they have to deal with. Which is partially why we have poor services because illegals will abuse them and not pay for the services creating further strain.
Probably why Trump is wanting to call another census because they will be less likely to answer now due to ICE events to attempt to reduce money spent in democrat controlled cities in addition to reducing spending.
