I recently transitioned industries (remote work) and it's quite difficult to find a good employer. Nowadays they scam you as much as you scam them and try to impose sweatshop conditons. There are a few good companies in my industry on the remote side but they are all filled up.

So I have given up on remote work and am going to do the same thing but in a non-remote environment soon where the employers are less cash-strapped and shady.

Medical coding. The key thing is to actually know the job at a basic level. I had someone I knew teach me the ropes. I then actually got my certification. The resume just overstates my experience by 5 years.

The industry is full of small no-name agencies so faking a resume was no big deal. But remote work has some of the worst job security and management.
