I think it's both Europeans being seen as "exotic" and America being much more liberal/open about sex than Europe.

Americans find it harder to deal with the culture shock. We have it easier in a large part because we grow up with American TV/movies which teaches us how you do things differently, about "dating" and other stuff (even small things like tipping etiquette).

The material you would've casually consumed will not help you much. If you come to a place like Ireland and you will have more learning to do. Certain guys will embrace the challenge, figure it out. But a lot will struggle because they didn't do their homework. It's not that you're unattractive it's mostly just shooting yourself in the foot.

Some general things. I once met an American who travelled here after he lost his dad and I emphasised with him, sorry to hear it and all (genuinely). He then felt the need to add a silver lining like how he got to meet extended family he didn't know about and how "that was really cool" . We don't really do that here. You're probably aware of the cliche of the Hollywood ending and all that. The British Isles are bit more cynical, they might call it realistic or whatever but you might notice the difference with the comedy if you watch US vs UK.

Most blunders are just from overconfidence. The meme, "let me tell you about your country" comes to mind, even if the stuff you read is correct or well thought out it rubs people the wrong way. I know you guys are just trying to share something you thought was interesting and to show your interest but it comes across the wrong way. Especially if you get into heavier stuff like the IRA. It is like the zoomer who was too young for 9/11 telling you what the event meant. Even if they're sort of on the mark you would tell yourself what the fuck does he know .

Americans can get with European women. But advice needs to be tailored to the country. Like in Italy the men are like sharks and women are used to living in an environment where the men are constantly making advances and so you need to adjust your approach.
