Muslim culture is inherently anti-west. Not many cultural or intellectual values are shared, and throughout history there has been a lot of conflict between Christian and Muslim nations.
So keeping the status quo as is, is just a benefit to the west.
Worst case scenario we have a country that takes a lot of resources and heat from its neighbors, that would otherwise be directed at us, and at best they're a dominant regional power that is useful in dominating hostile foreign nations.

Constant misinformation spam through the media, mostly through mediums that favor short term content, so emotional appeal works better.
Then there's the aid money which was dumped directly into building massive tunnel networks, which they refuse to let their own population hide in, favoring allowing them to become martyrs for their cause.
It's not in Israels interest to allow civilian deaths to be turned into propaganda pieces for the enemy, so the obvious solution would be to mitigate those.
They are very effective at doing this, but it's in the interest of Hamas to create public pressure on Israel, to stop them winning. So Hamas can and does order civilians back into areas the military is conducting operations in.
Objectively, the terrorist group Hamas cannot military win against Israel. They do not have the resources or the manpower, yet they insist upon this conflict anyway.
And just look at the way they launched it, by attacking civilian targets, and capturing the horror on gopros, and then retreating back into urban areas.
They know that western doctrine, for centuries, has been about avoiding fighting in urban areas, as it leads to increased casualties for the attacker, and increased civilian casualties.
The only way Hamas can fight, is as a terrorist group using civilians as a shield.
