I've been in hospital for a procedure once, where the were required to take a blood sample out of the artery in my wrist, instead of they vein. They used a special big ass needle and then a special tourniquet strap to stop any possible bleeding. I felt heaps of pressure on my wrist, then a sensation like I was being cut with a flaming knife, but almost straight away after no pain. My guess is the initial wound would probably hurt but due to adrenaline they prolly wouldn't feel it to much, but after that they probably wouldn't feel much of anything.
