Protestants and Catholics are absolutely heretics. We have countless Saints that have state this numerous times. If you’ve never heard this before then idk what people you’ve been listening to. St. Mark of Ephesus entire Sainthood rides on his defense of Orthodoxy against uniting with the Roman Catholics. He explicitly calls them heretics in his writings.

Heresy literally just means to chose your own beliefs instead of believing what is passed down by the Apostles and Church Fathers. It doesn’t mean distorting theology beyond recognition.

Not to mention when I was Protestant, I knew SO many Protestants that didn’t even believe the Holy Spirit is actually God Himself. They didn’t view Him as a Divine Person, but rather as an “energy” of God. I even knew countless Protestants that didn’t believe Jesus is God, that He is the “Son of God, but not God”. Then I also knew Protestants that reject everything Apostle Paul wrote and say he distorted the Faith. Then I know Protestants that would ONLY accept the words Jesus Himself said, and anything else by the Apostles or Prophets they reject as simply being human “opinions”. Not to mention every single Protestant I knew rejected that Communion is actually God Himself, and not just a symbol by using crackers and grape juice. So yea, blatant heresies.
