UK is getting government digital ID soon. Blair is pushing the shit out of it on Starmer in order to solve all the other problems (boatniggers, welfare out of control, children on web sites etc). He is arguing that without digital ID none of this can be solved. Remember Blair is also the one who introduced a billion CCTV cameras to the UK, which have done nothing to reduce crime but are very helpful in identifying people who protest about teh government.

Do you think that you will be able to get away from the internet? Everything is being consolidated (with a single point of failure). Money is increasingly becoming digital (CBDCs bad - Stablecoins good), all other broadcast media being taken offline - same with physical copper phone lines, TV/Phones will all be IP based. Apps required for everything. "Smart" TVs with mics/cameras, digital IDs coming soon.
