How did Western civilisation get to a point where you get penalised for the most normal thing on the planet: age gaps between older men and younger women?

It wasn't even a generation ago it feels like it was still okay; Now everyone is saying "I'm 21 and wouldn't imagine being attracted to an 18 year old", often while at the same time telling us "love is love" when it comes to LGBT.

The logic and morality is fundamentally unbroken, yet even I'm starting to think it's not okay (currently 31 with 19, been with her since 16 tho-- despite the fact everyone IRL treats us normally and never starts anything).

It sort of makes sense really, if you think about it. Most older men are usually single because they're losers, so when they target younger girls it's because they know they're stupid, naive, and inexperienced, so they're looking to exploit them. They really have nothing in common with that younger girl, so you know they're not having actual conversations with them, which then boils it down to what it's really about: wanting sex. Which implies then that they're not even looking for a partner, they're objectifying a young woman just for sex, which is why it feels gross. That combined subtext of "loser predatory man" + "wants a living fleshlight" makes it feel gross.

But there's really not an issue if the real case is a chad older man wanting to raise a woman right. If he's handsome, well-groomed, in shape, good finances, good morals, wise and intelligent, then all he's doing is giving a young woman a chance to grow into being a good woman without her having to waste time on younger idiot men at her age. She's skipping the crucible and getting right to the settled status before she can make mistakes. Most older women hate this particular type of relationship because they're envious and it reminds them of their own failings that led to their miserable status.
