>>512527109 (OP)South Park is lazy and uninspired. It has been that way since 2017. Most episodes produced after that year lack creativity and are more apparent this season because instead of producing "clever commentary" on [insert topic], they're doing a 1-to-1, shot-for-shot remake of whatever liberal fantasy they believe is going on. It doesn't matter how far from reality it actually is. That is what they think of current events. It's almost as if they are feeding CNN and MSNBC articles into AI to create a storyboard for the upcoming episode. Even Trey Parker's dialogue (yes, he does write 100% of the dialogue) comes off like he's a tired, old man just doing the bare minimum to say he has a finished script.
They should have never boxed themselves into their development format of producing each in 7 days. It might have been fine early on when they were bursting with creativity. That well has dried up, though. They clearly need to work for a few months at a time to develop the ideas for each episode instead of going with the first thing that pops into their heads.
They can shit on Family Guy all that they want, but the landscape has changed. Family Guy has mostly fresh episodes every season, while South Park feels stale, stagnant, and uninspired.
