Heres a bold prediction, when Canada has a guerilla warfare group they wont be able to just hide in the woods anymore because the drones nearly penetrate all the foliage. Its likely they will be people who live in cities, travelling to attack the countryside economically. Not the people, this is a mostly peaceful form of resistance, although with collateral damage inevitable. The fires they really dont want are called Canopy Fires. Its the top canopy of a dense high forest when it catches, it spreads top to top unlike underbrush fires which dont really matter and might just strip away the branches near the bottom etc. Some trees and areas like Californias sequoias are naturally waxy and do very well in forest fires, mostly just being shrugged off by the trunks.

Its also largely based on wind/weather patterns, humidity etc. The coastal weather patterns are the most volatile, there is even a specific weather pattern off the coast of BC/California where the air will actually reverse and get sucked back out into the ocean instead of coming in moist. These are when the worst fires happen, as the land area dries right out and its like a cycle - it burns, the air goes away, it gets dryer and hotter, so it burns even worse, repeat. Happened 1-2 years ago.

Also of course you have the scorched earth effect, if the fire becomes hot enough it will char the soil and make it hydrophobic. Instead of growing back lush from the ash fertilizer, the soil rejects the water and nothing can grow.

Then there are firestorms, like in Dresden. That can happen in nature, if several forest fires unite and become so hot and intense it creates a whirlwind. Also happened in Canada in recent years.

Oh and finally, you also will have the desertification effect. Farmers plant trees along their fields so the leaves drop and replenish the soil, keep it rooted, keep it stable. If you cut too many trees down in a wide area, like a very large "valley" - you might end up with soil eroding and turning into a desert. It needs the leaves to break down and turn into new loam. So if enough trees in an area burn, the farmers wont be able to grow.

I can understand why the west coast is concerned about fires, but thats really not my concern tbqh. About half the woods here need fire. Literally many of the plants wont seed without it. And if burned regularly a fire really wont burn very hot... even if they arent burned regularly they wont burn that hot. Hell I've seen fires go hot in a drought in 30mph wind and not be a big problem, it might torch a few hard woods here and there but nothing serious. Mostly, fire will just move through and burn back the underbrush and clean up the woods and cause the beneficial plant grasses and weeds to go to seed. Now the other half of the woods literally will not burn. Either they are too wet, or the oaks drop so many leaves that it's like trying to burn a wet book.
