A housing market "collapse" is a misnomer, retard. It means all the boomers who tied up their money in (((equity))) scams and the companies who bought up mortgage-backed securities, are gonna take a massive dick in the ass because their value will drop a lot. In other words it ultimately means housing will become affordable for regular people again if rates are capped by the administration, which it can and should do to keep homes affordable. The problem that arose out 2008's "crisis" was banks and lenders raising rates to such extremes, that people had to foreclose on their homes from inability to pay their loans.

Keep in mind that this only affected people with ARMs or other adjustable rate products. The default in America is a fixed rate 30 year mortgage, so once you make your loan, the rate stays the same forever and cannot be raised as a matter of contract law. So the only people who ate shit on adjustable rates back then were people doing sketchy non-standard loans; landlords, house flippers, illegals, etc.

If you are a standard normal American with a standard normal fixed rate loan on a standard normal home, there is absolutely nothing the Fed can do to change your rate or payment. And the button they do have, the money-printing button, just makes your payment not worth as much.
