We have Reddit to blame (yes literally) for that cultural shift, at least partially.
Anyone who used Reddit back in 2010/2012 remembers what a true "libertarian," "free-speech" Reddit was like before they literally hired and paid the SRS mods to destroy their website.
It was just memes and articles and a well laid out message board for people to communicate. Everyone used it. Then globalist Conde Nast ruined it once it got popular enough for the sole purpose of raping White people into submission just like very other fucking globalist conglomerate.
For a while, old Redditfags clung on to the site in fringe subreddits like TumblrInAction before they were all eventually closed down but most of the smart ones left before that.
I unironically miss 2010-ish /r/reddit.com and /r/ffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu
