That isn't really true of motorcycles. Harleys are technologically and stylistically backwards by choice but they're well-built and use high quality materials, and they make the Panamerica, which is a totally modern world class adventure bike. They don't make anything that I'm currently interested in owning but that doesn't mean they're bad, they're just in their own niche and have different priorities from other manufacturers. Their subsidiary Livewire arguably makes the best electric bikes too, though personally I have zero interest in one and won't be until they can make batteries with 3 times the capacity at half the weight. (A 300mi motorcycle would be viable for me, the current 100mi or less definitely isn't.)
