There will never be an astronaut like him ever again. Especially considering that he risked his life four times (and nearly dying of suffocation on the 4th due to failure, all while being nearly stranded the furthest from Earth that anybody has ever gone at all), and doing things that none of us would have even remotely considered,

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds,โ€”and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed ofโ€”wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air ....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flewโ€”
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Perhaps the selection process for astronauts also selected for longevity?

No. It's more along the lines of NASA knowing full well, and designing tests on metal shielding and plating against stronger radiation, to prevent that very thing from happening.

Remember, back then, NASA consisted of the brightest minds in the world. Remember that the Voyager probes are still functional and operational (albeit, with next to zero power and all scientific instruments turned off). The Voyager probes are absolute potatoes, but are still ongoing in their extended mission, and still contribute important solar reading radiation to study the weather and conditions of the interstellar medium.

If it was faked, then why does every single theory to attempt to debunk it all contradict all other theories? Why didn't the Soviet Union call us out on it? Why were there absolutely no leaked footage of a sound stage (that was not part of any movies that recreated it)? Why do you think that television (with low production values of Star Trek and Lost in Space), or excessively expensive high production values for its time (2001: A Space Odyssey for example), without any form of profit or compensation, burn through all of that money just to produce a fake (and subsequently would have faced severe consequences if it was ever leaked to the public)? Why did future probes that mapped the Lunar surface show details of all landing sites of not only the Apollo missions, but also unmanned spacecraft that either did a soft landing or a hard crash? Why were there footage and eye-witnesses of the astronauts physically going into the capsule before liftoff, and exiting it after retrieval, if it was faked?

Also, why would NASA choose to fake several disasters (such as Apollo 1 burning up and Apollo 13 failing its mission), since it would have severely damaged their reputation, as well as ensure that the astronauts who would have supposedly "died" in Apollo 1 would have had to live a life of total and complete seclusion, as well as have the whole trust of their entire administration plus other government agencies and the Executive Office to pretend that they were dead?

My uncle who is aerial engineer who worked on the TOW missile system said he believes the moon landings did happen but that each launch if done today would cost somewhere in the ballpark of 200 billion. Like if they were to remake and make a modern Saturn V. Itโ€™s the same reason why youโ€™re most likely not gonna see another Hoover dam built or another Panama Canal etc. I mean they can build a road connecting the Bering strait but they donโ€™t. Why? Money. Itโ€™s the same reason why we regular folks canโ€™t afford a simple one bedroom house on a factor salary. Itโ€™s economics that are fucked up.
